How to run multiple instances of Media Player Classic - HC (MPC-HC)

Running multiple instances of MPC-HC  can be useful if you want to run multiple videos at same time.

  • Software :      MPC HC 1.9.7 x64
  • Operating System:      Windows 10 Pro x64 

 


 

Method 1

Open the MPC-HC app multiple times from the Window Start menu. Each time you run the app a new instance of the app window opens up. You can run separate video files in each of these multiple app instances.

 

To run a instance of MPC-HC do the followings :

  • Open Windows Start menu.
  • Find MPC-HC app and select MPC-HC x64 to run it.

 

Using the same procedure you can open multiple of MPC-HC.

 

 


 

 

Method 2

Second method is by changing the settings of MPC-HC x64 to run a new process for each video file being opened from Microsoft Windows Explorer.

To open the MPC-HC Options window do the followings:

  • Open View > Options

 



 

  • In Player tab
  • Select Open a new player for each media file played in the group box labelled Open options.
  • Click Apply and OK.

 

 

 

  • Now you can play multiple videos in multiple instances of MPC-BE. 
  • Every time you Open a video file in Windows Explorer a new window of MPC-BE will open up.

 

 Revert to Default Setting

 To revert back to Default setting do the following :
  • Open View > Options
  • In Player tab 
  • Select Use the same player for each media file in the group box labelled Open options.
  • Click Apply and OK
