Tutorial on how to setup MPC-BE to use external MPC Video Renderer and how to configure the MPC Video Renderer.
System config :
- MPC-BE 1.5.5
- MPC Video Renderer 0.4.9
- Microsoft Windows 10
1. Download and install MPC Video Renderer

2. Setup MPC Video Renderer as Video Renderer in MPC-BE
To open MPC-BE app Options windows, do the following:
- Select View > Options.
- Select Playback > Output tab.
- Select MPC Video Renderer from the drop down list labelled Video renderer.
3. MPC Video Renderer Settings
To open MPC Video Renderer Properties window do the following:
- Play a video File in MPC-BE app.
- Select Play > Filters > MPC Video Renderer.
- Select Settings tab.
- Enable Use Direct3D11.
- Select Apply button.

The default Chroma upsampling, Upscaling and Downscaling setting is fine for most users.
If you want to use better scaling algorithms which will use more GPU computing power, then do the followings:
- Select Catmull-Rom from the drop down list labelled Chroma upsampling.
- Select Lancoz3 from the drop down list labelled Upscaling.
- Select Bicubic sharp from the drop down list labelled Downscaling.
- Select Apply button.
Show/Hide the Statistics on the screen
Method 1
- To Show the statistics on the screen use shortcut Crtl+J.
- To Hide the statistics shown on the screen use shortcut Crtl+J.
Method 2
Alternatively, you can do the setting in MPC Video Renderer to show the statistics on the screen.
To open MPC Video Renderer Properties window do the following:
- Play a video File in MPC-BE.
- Select Play > Filters > MPC Video Renderer.
To show the statistics on the screen.
- Enable Show statistics.
- Select Apply button.
To Hide the statistics on the screen.
- Disable Show statistics.
- Select Apply button.
