PotPlayer + MPC Video Renderer

Tutorial on how to setup Potplayer app to use MPC Video Renderer.

 

If you want to use MPC Video Renderer in Potplayer then do the followings:

 

1. Install MPC Video renderer

• Instruction to install MPC Video Renderer
  

 

 

2. Setup Potplayer app to use MPC Video Renderer

• Open Potplayer preferences.
• Select Video tab
• Select  MPC Video renderer from the drop down list labelled Video Renderer.
  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. MPC Video Renderer settings

 

To setup MPC Video renderer, do the followings:

• Select Video tab.
  
• To Click on the button as shown below.

 

 

 

 

• Select Settings tab.
  
• Check the check box labelled Use Direct3D11.
• Select Apply button.
  

 

 

 

 Shader video processor settings

The default Chroma upsampling, Upscaling and Downscaling setting is fine for most users.

If you want to use better scaling algorithms which will use more GPU computing power, then do the followings:

• Select Catmull-Rom from the drop down list labelled Chroma upsampling.
• Select Lancoz3 from the drop down list labelled Upscaling.
• Select Bicubic sharp from the drop down list labelled Downscaling.
• Select Apply button.
