Down Stream Youtube videos using Media Player Classic Black Edition

Tutorial on how to stream youtube videos using Media Player Classic Black Edition ( MPC-BE).

MPC-BE online video streaming feature can down stream media from youtube and other such websites.

• Software : MPC-BE 1.5.5 x64
• OS : Microsoft Windows 10 x64
  

Youtube streaming settings

User can do default Youtube streaming settings which will be used to down stream youtube videos using MPC-BE.

Here user has option to setup the default video streaming details like format,resolution, FPS and HDR. The Preferred format settings done by the user will be preferred by MPC-BE for selecting a video stream format from multiple streaming video format available in youtube.

 

Youtube streaming setting is located at Playback > Online media services.

 

 

 

Video format options :

• MP4
• WebM
  

 

 

Video streaming Resolution

User can set the maximum resolution for video streaming.

Video streaming Resolution options :

• 4320p :  8K (Ultra HD) resolution
  
• 2880p :  5K resolution
• 2160p :  4K (Ultra HD) resolution
• 1440p:   QHD (Quad HD)
  
• 1080p :  Full HD or FHD resolution
• 720p :  HD resolution
• 480p :
• 360p :
• 240p :

 

 

 

 

60 fps

fps stands for Frame Per Second.

Checked : MPC-BE will prefer streaming video with 60 FPS

Unchecked : No FPS preference used by MPC-BE.

 

 

 

 

HDR

Here user can setup MPC-BE to prefer stream High dynamic range(HDR) video.

 

• Checked : MPC-BE will prefer streaming HDR video.
  
• Unchecked : MPC-BE will not prefer streaming HDR video.

 

 

 

 

MP4 format supports streaming of video with resolution 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p and 240p.

WebM format supports streaming video with resolution  4320p, 2880p,  2160p, 1440p,1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p, and 240p.

User must select correct video format otherwise MPC-BE will not be able to stream videos.

WebM, 720p ,60 fps

MP4, 1080p, 60 fps

WebM, 1440p, 60fps

Down Stream youtube Video in MPC-BE

To stream the youtube video copy the URL of the video in the clipboard.

• Start MPC-BE player.
• Select File > Open File/URL.

 

 

 

• Enter the URL of youtube video in the text box labeled Open.
• Select OK button.
  

 

 

 

 

Streaming format can be changed using menu Navigate > Jump To.

 

 

 

 

Check the video streaming details

User can check the details of video and audio which is being streamed using Properties.

Select File > Properties.

 

 

 

 Properties window will show the resolution and fps streaming video.

 

 

 

Details of video stream:

Video: AVC (H.264), High Profile, Level 4.2, 1920x1080, 59.940 fps

Audio: AAC, 44.1 kHz, 2.0 chn, 16 bit

• Checked : The URL in the Microsoft Windows OS clipboard will be automatically copied in the text box labelled Open ..
  
• Unchecked : The URL in the Microsoft Windows OS clipboard will not be automatically copied in the text box labelled Open.

 

 

 

Add online streaming URL to MPC-BE playlist

If user want to add user have option to add the online video URL to the Playlist instead of streaming it in MPC-BE.

• To add the URL to the playlist, check the checkbox labelled Add to playlist without opening.
• Enter the URL in the text box labelled Open.
• Select Open button.
